The CFMS brand has an outstanding history as Canada's leading provider of Independent Commissioning Services since 1992. It’s a long tradition of partnering with owners, architects, designers and construction teams to ensure superior quality control—from initial design to initial operation. Whether it’s new construction or improving an existing space, we deliver total building commissioning, LEED commissioning, re-commissioning and facilities management, ensuring 100% authentic reporting and the proper strategic guidance to meet your goals. As proof, we have successfully completed projects for more than 40 healthcare facilities, more than 300 educational facilities, and several hundred institutional and other commercial projects to date.
CFMS Consulting Inc. was incorporated in 1992, initially offering services in the following areas: the commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems; the design and commissioning of controls, building automation, security and fire alarm systems; and facilities management. In the late 1990’s Al Haye, an experienced Facility Manager began working on commissioning projects with the CFMS team. By 2000, he was commissioning full-time and in 2003, Al started the first satellite office, opening CFMS-West Consulting Inc., to provide expert total building commissioning services throughout South Western Ontario.
CFMS-West was formally incorporated in 2004, and today stands as an experienced, fully independent commissioning company—a member in good standing with the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA). We have grown to provide total building commissioning services, with particular experience in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as specialty-building systems such as archives, data centres, laboratories and renewables.
CFMS-West has provided commissioning services for numerous buildings, ranging in size from 10,000 square feet (930 square metres) to 1.8 million square feet (167,225 square metres), and representing every sector of the construction industry: from new projects and renovations local Universities, Colleges and school boards, to hospitals, and cutting-edge laboratory facilities, like the award winning CANMET laboratory at McMaster Innovation Park.
